‘My Choices Program’ Training For Our Team

A dedicated group of our educators and team leaders traveled to Montreal for a week to participate in the My Choices Program training.
This training was facilitated by Lilian Vargas, one of the Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services members. With exceptional guidance and compassion, Lilian led participants through a series of interactive activities designed to foster self-awareness around substance use, encourage healthier habits, and reduce risk-taking behaviours. The training also focused on identifying high-risk situations and developing practical strategies to navigate them.

We were privileged to be joined by an inspiring team: Alacie Qaqutuk (Team Leader, Akulivik), Juani Beaulne (Team Leader, Puvirnituq), Paul Palliser (Educator, Inukjuak), Lasarusie Tukai (Team Leader, Inukjuak), Edua Peter Lucassie (Educator, Kangirsuk), Victor Verreault (Educator, Kangirsuk), Randy Gordon (OTL Coordinator), Lukasi Whiteley Tukkiapik (OTL Coordinator and Interim Executive Director), Maude-Émilie Drolet (Development Coordinator), and Jennifer Hunter (intervener at the Inuulitsivik Direction of Community Services, Kuujjuaraapik).

It was a week filled with learning, laughter, reflection, and heartfelt sharing of stories and personal experiences. This unforgettable experience with the Saqijuq team allowed us to broaden our perspectives and provided a safe and open environment to explore these meaningful and sensitive topics together.
