Seal hunting is a practice deeply rooted in Inuit culture and essential for preserving food security, sustainability, as well as being a sacred and revered tradition. Seal hunting also represents a way of life that fosters respect for the land, water, animals, and is greatly reflective of the Inuit values of gratitude and resourcefulness.
For Inuit hunters, the seal hunt is also a chance to pass down many traditional skills and practical knowledge to younger generations, ensuring the continuity of Inuit culture and way of life.
